What parents need to know.

Never sold
D1 Performance does not sell athlete or family data — not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. Health data can never be sold, period.
No ad targeting
No ad networks, ad identifiers, tracking pixels, or advertising SDKs — in the app or on the website. Training and health data are never used for marketing, and no minor's data is ever used for targeted advertising.
Family visibility
A linked Parent/Guardian can see the athlete's plan, progress, and training story. Parents never lose sight of what their athlete is doing — and athletes can see exactly which adults are linked.
Health data, minimal
Health access is optional, read-only, and limited to four signals: sleep, height, weight, and steps. It stays off until the athlete turns it on, and a linked Parent/Guardian can stop it at any time. Declining blocks nothing — the plan runs on manual entries instead.
Deletion path
Delete the account in the app (Account → Delete Account) or through support. A preview shows exactly what gets deleted and what must stay — billing, safety, and legal records. The account deletion section of the Terms walks through every step.
What we collect and why
Account basics
Keep sign-in, plan access, billing handoff, and support tied to the right person. Date of birth verifies the 13+ requirement and keeps programming age-appropriate.
Athlete profile
Set up the plan around position, grade band, goals, training context, injury history the family chooses to share, and linked family visibility.
Training and progress
Run the daily plan, preserve workout history, respond to readiness and discomfort check-ins safely, and show proof of progress. Premium adds Trainer review of logs, messages, and form-check videos.
Fuel entries
Power age-appropriate nutrition guidance from logged meals — including label photos the athlete chooses to snap. Never aggressive dieting, never used for anything but the plan.
Allowed Health inputs
Optional, read-only sleep, height, weight, and step signals only. Off until the athlete turns it on, and a linked Parent/Guardian can stop it at any time; declining does not block training.
Eligibility entries
Track the academic and eligibility information the family chooses to enter — like GPA — so the athlete's full story stays in one place. Entered by the family, visible to the family.
Who can see what
The athlete
Everything in their own account: plan, logs, progress, messages, and settings.
Linked Parent/Guardian
Their linked athlete's plan, progress, and training story — visibility, not control. A Parent/Guardian never owns the athlete's account.
D1 Performance staff
On Premium, the assigned Trainer sees their athlete's training data, messages, and videos. Support sees only what a request requires.
Service providers
Infrastructure vendors (hosting, sign-in, payments, email, error monitoring, AI-assisted features) process data only to run the service, under contract. The full list is in the Privacy Policy. No one else.
We will never
- Sell personal information — anyone's, ever.
- Use athlete, family, or health data for advertising or marketing.
- Put athletes on public profiles, public leaderboards, or social feeds.
- Let strangers message an athlete inside the app.
- Send marketing email or texts to athletes.
- Use health data for insurance, credit, or employment decisions.
- Promise scholarships, recruiting outcomes, or roster spots — or use data to imply we can.
